“The Bold New Camry”

The redesigned 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid is the perfect combination of versatility, comfort and affordability especially when you don’t have to fill up on gas as often.

Interior

Although there are some exterior changes to the Camry, the most noticeable changes are in the interior, starting with all the new materials used, there doesn’t seem to be any materials that were re-used from the previous year however some of the materials do feel a little cheaper. The infotainment system is all new, making it easier to use and less lag time. All Camry’s come standard with Bluetooth, AUX input, USB port, audio streaming and at least 6 speakers. The steering wheel is a new 3-spoke design and a re-designed instrument panel with clear blue illumination making it easier to read. A neat new feature is the in-console wireless charging system that lets you charge your smart device by just placing it on the charging pad. The seating arrangement is still optimal with all occupants having ample leg, knee and head room. Although it is a hybrid and the battery is located in the trunk there is still pretty decent trunk space.

Engine / Performance

The Camry hybrid comes with a 2.5L Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder and Hybrid Synergy Drive system that produces a net horsepower of 200. There is minimal lag time with starts compared to other hybrids out there. The Camry Hybrid remains one of the top hybrids for the price-point. The ride was very smooth, which was due to the gated shift automatic transmission and McPherson strut front suspension and sporty rear suspension and stabilizer bar. Toyota also improved the engine to run quieter which makes a difference when you enjoy a quiet ride.

Exterior

The re-designed Camry Hybrid has a smooth and continuous design as if crafted from a single sheet of metal and now with its forward stance and aggressive grille looks nothing like the Camry from 5 years ago. The Hybrid comes with LED daytime running lights, projector style halogen headlamps and new aluminum alloy wheels.

Safety

The 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid comes with many standard safety features including 10 standard airbags, ABS, brake assist, electronic brake distribution, smart stop technology, traction control, rear cross traffic alert and vehicle stability control. Additional safety features that are included in the Hybrid are the blind spot monitoring system and reverse camera.
