Redesigned inside and out for 2016 the Honda Pilots interior is especially inviting. It starts by never having to take the key out of your pocket with the proximity key entry system and pushbutton start. Available heated and cooled 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat including memory-linked side mirrors; you will never have to worry about ever losing your perfect setup or getting too warm or cold. Along with the seats, the leather wrapped steering wheel is also heated. The Pilot can seat up to 8 with the 2nd row bench seats or 7 with the second row captain’s chairs. Great easy access to the 3rd row, with the available one touch second row seats, tons of cargo room in the back with all rows featuring 60/40 split folding seats. To ensure everyone gets their own comfort zone, the Pilot features tri-zone automatic climate control for the front driver, passenger and second row occupants. Furthermore, the available panoramic moon roof is great for letting in extra natural light for the passengers in the back. If that’s not enough to keep your passengers occupied Honda offers a 9-inch rear entertainment system compatible with DVD, Blu-Ray, and HDMI. New to the Pilot for 2016 is the 8-inch touch screen Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation system which will get you to your destination with no difficulties. Similar to your smartphone and tablets you can swipe, drag, and pinch to zoom in on the map. Hands free Bluetooth and rear-view camera comes standard with three different camera angels to choose from. As well, I really enjoyed using the Lane Watch blind spot display system which lets you see your surroundings on the right side via a live stream on the 8-inch screen. The premium sound system features a 10 speaker, 540-watt setup that was great for any drive, producing a solid surround sound like quality. Overall, the instrument panel is easy to use and familiarize yourself with. The touchscreen responds very well and the 4.2-inch heads up display helps you focus on the road while being able to control and monitor everything the Pilot has to offer. This year the Honda Pilots interior really stands out, loaded with technology and premium soft-touch materials along much of the dashboard and doors, it feels like a luxury SUV cabin you don’t want to get out of.
